As Stephen Curry enters his 16th NBA season with the Golden State Warriors, the four-time champion says his drive to keep playing comes down to one goal — winning another title.
Speaking on SiriusXM NBA Radio on Friday, Curry acknowledged that the Warriors may not be preseason favorites for the 2025–26 season, but he still sees a realistic path to contention.

“I don’t think we’ll be the favorite in anyone’s eyes,” Curry said, “but we have a team capable of reaching that level again. After everything we’ve been through over the past 13 years and winning those four championships, adding another would be incredible. That’s the only thing I’m playing for now.”
At 37, Curry remains the focal point of Golden State’s roster. Last season, he averaged 24.5 points, 6 assists, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game, shooting 44.8% from the floor and 39.7% from deep in 70 appearances. His play helped the Warriors finish 48–34 and claim the seventh seed in the West, bolstered by the midseason trade for Jimmy Butler III from the Miami Heat.
Golden State’s playoff run ended in the second round against the Minnesota Timberwolves after Curry suffered a hamstring injury in Game 1 and missed the remainder of the series, which the Warriors lost in five games.
