The San Antonio Spurs are headed back to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2014 after defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road in Game 7.
San Antonio secured a 111-103 victory, led by Victor Wembanyama, who finished with 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists. Seven Spurs players scored in double figures, including Julian Champagnie with 20 points and 6 rebounds on 6-of-10 shooting from three-point range, Stephon Castle with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists, and De’Aaron Fox with 15 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Off the bench, Dylan Harper made a major impact with 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists.
For Oklahoma City, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander did everything he could, finishing with 35 points and 9 assists, but received limited support. Cason Wallace added 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists, while Jaylin Williams posted a double-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists.
The NBA will crown a new champion for the eighth consecutive season. The Finals are set to begin on Wednesday with Game 1 at the Frost Bank Center.
