According to Jake Fischer, the San Antonio Spurs have shown interest in Trey Murphy III, though the New Orleans Pelicans won’t part with him without a strong offer.
A mock trade sends Murphy to San Antonio in exchange for Devin Vassell and three draft assets, including a 2026 swap and a 2027 first-round pick. For the Spurs, Murphy would be an ideal fit alongside Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox, after averaging 21.2 points last season.
The Pelicans, meanwhile, would receive Vassell — a proven 16.3 PPG scorer — plus valuable draft capital for the future. On paper, this deal looks like a rare win-win trade in today’s NBA.
