Pallacanestro Reggiana announced the signing of Kenneth J. “Speedy” Smith for the 2026/27 season. The 191-centimeter American point guard, born in Saint Petersburg, Florida, on January 28, 1993, completes the UNA Hotels Reggio Emilia roster.
After playing NCAA Division I basketball at Louisiana Tech, Smith began his professional career with VEF Riga before moving through the G League and several European leagues. With Hapoel Jerusalem, he won two Israeli Cups and one Israeli League Cup, earning MVP honors in all three competitions. Last season, he won the Basketball Champions League with Rytas Vilnius.
“Speedy Smith is the last piece of our puzzle,” coach Dimitris Priftis said. “We are happy to add to the roster a player with the experience and quality needed to control our game.” Smith added: “I felt I was coming to a place where I am truly wanted and where I can be myself.”
