After Greece’s win over Lithuania at EuroBasket 2025, coach Vassilis Spanoulis shared a funny exchange with Vassilis Toliopoulos, who called him his idol.

“He’s a huge inspiration, I grew up watching him,” said Toliopoulos. Spanoulis replied with a smile: “Thank you Vassilis, maybe I’ll think about giving you more minutes on the court.”

The coach praised his players’ effort and highlighted Giannis Antetokounmpo’s leadership, expressing pride in the team and confidence as Greece moves on to the semifinals.
