Scariolo led the Spanish national team from 2009 to 2012, and then from 2015 to present

Sergio Scariolo, Spain’s CT, during an interview with El Pais says he is concerned about the lack of minutes given to local players in the ACB.

“I would say there is an emergency….I would like to reverse the trend that I see in local players and that worries me enormously. Among the 50 players who played the most in ACB last season, only 3 or 4 were Spanish (Sergi Martinez, 5th, Lluis Costa, 7th, Santi Yusta, 13th, and Sergi Garcia, 38th). In 2009, when I took over the team, they were 3 or 4 times more. It’s the lowest total among all European basketball leagues.”
