Goran Dragić defended his brother Zoran after coach Aleksander Sekulić’s decision not to take him to EuroBasket 2025.
The choice by Slovenia’s head coach Sekulić not to bring Dragić to what would probably have been his last European Championship had already prompted a strongly worded comment from Zoran’s wife, Svetlana. “The ‘so-called coach’ didn’t cross Zoran off the list. Zoran left this circus that has been going on for a couple of years” were Mrs. Dragić’s words.
Now, Goran has also taken aim at coach Sekulić. In an Instagram story on his profile, the EuroBasket 2017 MVP compared Slovenia’s coach to Pinocchio, effectively calling him a liar. Evidently, there was a promise that was not kept.
