Following a strong run in the AdmiralBet ABA League—finishing first in the regular season and reaching the finals—Budućnost Podgorica is aiming even higher. According to sources close to the club, Skylar Mays is on the verge of becoming their new lead guard.

The 28-year-old playmaker, who has NBA experience, reportedly received a positive response to his contract demands from the Montenegrin team. His addition would be a major step in reshaping the roster of coach Andrej Žakelj, especially after the departure of McKinley Wright.

So far this summer, Budućnost has added Oleksandr Kovliar, Axel Bouteille, and Jerry Boutsiele. The next priority is to strengthen the roster with a strong point guard and a reliable center. If finalized, the Mays signing would make headlines across the regional basketball scene.
