Shane Larkin appears to be on the verge of joining Fenerbahçe in what could become one of the biggest moves of the European basketball offseason.
According to Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, the veteran guard has reportedly reached a full agreement with Fenerbahçe and is now awaiting the final formal steps before signing his new contract. Sources also suggest that Larkin and Anadolu Efes have found common ground regarding the termination of his current deal.
Once the necessary paperwork is completed, the American-born guard could officially become a Fenerbahçe player, ending a highly successful era with Anadolu Efes.
The financial aspect of the move is also drawing attention. Reports indicate that Larkin would forgo his June salary and leave approximately $400,000 to Efes as part of the agreement. When factoring in the remaining value of his previous contract, his total financial sacrifice to facilitate the transfer could exceed $2 million.
While the move has not yet been officially announced, all indications suggest that Larkin is heading to Fenerbahçe unless an unexpected twist emerges in the final stages of the negotiations.
