Sergio Scariolo discussed his role at BC Roma, making it clear that he has not become an executive. “My job is to coach. I am here to offer opinions based on the experience I have gained over the years,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Scariolo will work closely with Alessandro Magro and revealed that they speak three or four times a day. “I will be here every week, but we are also setting up the technology to work when I am away. Everyone has a defined role and we must not confuse them.”
Asked about his future and the possibility of eventually coaching BC Roma, Scariolo remained cautious: “We have to live in the moment.” He also urged patience: “This project is a newborn. First you build a structure, then a culture and a system of play. Nature does not make leaps.”
