Sergio Scariolo spoke very clearly after Real Madrid lost to Baskonia, again bringing attention to the officiating debate following the EuroLeague final against Olympiacos.
The Italian coach said recent games had left him with several doubts: “We have not been lucky with the officiating, neither in the Liga nor in the EuroLeague. But I don’t want to take any credit away from Baskonia, they did a great job.”
Scariolo then referred directly to the European final: “It was an injustice. It was impressive how the whole neutral world, in Europe and around the world, expressed itself this way.”
The Real Madrid coach added that he had rewatched the game with objectivity and reached the same conclusion: “The injustice was received and suffered. But now the time has come to look forward.”
