Sergio Scariolo shared a message on X after Real Madrid were eliminated from the ACB playoffs, repeating what he had said after the final game: “In the last week we were not up to what this club’s history and the constant support of the fans deserve”.

The coach added: “Personally, I regret not being able to help the team recover its competitive energy after the great effort of the Final Four, and I take full responsibility”.

Scariolo thanked executives, coaches and players for their professionalism during a season that included first place in the ACB regular season and a run that left Real Madrid very close to becoming European champions. “We have to improve and correct mistakes, myself first”, he concluded.
