Serbia’s Nikola Djurisic likely to miss Iceland and Italy games

The Crvena Zvezda guard suffered an injury during national team preparations ahead of the World Cup Qualifiers

Serbia is expected to be without Nikola Djurisic for its upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Qualifiers against Iceland and Italy. According to Meridian Sport, the guard sustained an injury during the national team’s training camp.

The Crvena Zvezda player had impressed with his energy, intensity and defensive presence during the exhibition games against France. His likely absence will reduce Serbia’s perimeter depth.

Serbia will host Iceland on Friday, August 28, at 20:00 CET before visiting Italy in Pesaro on Monday, August 31, at 19:30 CET. Djurisic’s recovery will also be monitored ahead of his first full season with Crvena Zvezda.
