Scariolo on Sfairopoulos: “Firing him after two games made no sense”

In an interview with Mozzart Sport, Sergio Scariolo addressed the early-season coaching change at Crvena Zvezda, calling the dismissal of Ioannis Sfairopoulos “completely illogical.” The Spanish coach said such quick firings rarely make sense from a basketball perspective.

“Janis is a great person and coach,” Scariolo said. “Of course, every club has its reasons, but generally these kinds of fast changes don’t help.” He also wished Sasha Obradovic good luck as the new head coach of the Serbian club.
