Sergio Scariolo spoke to the media after Real Madrid’s loss on the road against Olimpia Milan:
“In the second half we competed well and showed a good level, but in the second quarter we completely switched off. They are a great team, very experienced and in excellent form. They played well and I can’t take anything away from them, but we are disappointed with those six or seven minutes in the second quarter that opened up the game. From that point on, it was really difficult for us to get back into it.”
“The game was balanced in the first and last quarters. The second quarter was terrible: we lost our focus and then it was hard to recover. We did manage to come back and cut the deficit to four points, but in the key moments we lacked a bit of concentration and they made some very big shots.”
On the next game, scheduled in two days at the Movistar Arena against Paris Basketball:
“The EuroLeague is a very long competition and we have another game in less than 48 hours. We need to be ready, recover, learn from this game and go out on the court in front of our fans. We have to be more consistent.”
After 16 rounds, the Blancos have the same record as Milan, with nine wins and seven losses.
