Sarunas Jasikevicius admitted Olympiacos’ clear superiority after Fenerbahce’s Final Four semifinal loss at the Telekom Center Athens. The Lithuanian coach offered no excuses, calling it his team’s worst game of the season.
“Congratulations to Bartzokas and Olympiacos, they were clearly the better team tonight. Unfortunately, we had a full roster and played our worst game of the season. It hurts me to see us play like this,” Jasikevicius said.
The Fenerbahce coach focused on the poor starts to each quarter and his team’s inability to sustain momentum: “Every time we tried to come back, we couldn’t. Every time we found a little life, they took it away from us. A bad afternoon for us and unfortunately it happened on the big stage.”
Jasikevicius also pointed to the offensive issues: “Olympiacos played like Olympiacos. I’m satisfied defensively, but offensively we were very poor. I’m not taking anything away from Olympiacos, they were a much better team tonight.” On Nando De Colo, he added: “Everyone knows who De Colo is, one of the greatest. Amazing career.”
