Sandro Mamukelashvili said on the Full Court Passport podcast that he’d like to return to Europe to close out his career and hopes he could eventually play in a potential NBA Europe league. “I think it will be a really successful league… it would create opportunities for players close to making the NBA while allowing them to develop,” the Georgian forward said, adding the idea should work even if it takes time to build momentum.
Mamukelashvili also suggested the league could compete “a little” with both college basketball and the NBA, and stressed his personal goal of living in Europe: “I want to finish my career there… be close to home and make it easier for my parents and friends to visit.”
