Sammy Mejia announced that he’s retiring from basketball at 37 years: «After a lot of thought and emotional highs and lows, I’ve decided to officially retire from the game of basketball. As I close the door on this part of my life, there is so much that I will be taking with me. All the ups and downs. All the friendships. All the people who helped me get here… Thank you Basketball. For allowing this kid’s dreams to come true».
Mejia has won during his career a French championship with Cholet, a Russian championship and a VTB with Cska Moscow .
