Croatian forward Luka Šamanić has unexpectedly parted ways with Baskonia, and according to Sportske Novosti, the split followed the game against Partizan Mozzart Bet, where he reportedly played while suffering from bronchitis at coach Paolo Galbiati’s request.
Šamanić posted 13 points and 4 rebounds in 14 minutes, but his condition worsened afterward, prompting him to seek a contract termination. The 24-year-old is now looking for a new team after starting the season as one of Baskonia’s key players.
The former Fenerbahce forward could rejoin Cibona, where he previously signed an open deal before moving to Spain. This time, however, the contract would reportedly last until the end of the season.
