Micic will remain with reigning Euroleague champions Anadolu Efes next season

Oklahoma City Thunder GM Sam Presti yesterday spoke to the media on the eve of the team’s 15th season after moving from Seattle. Among the many topics discussed, the possible arrival of Vasilije Micic in NBA.

The Thunder acquired his rights from Philadelphia as part of the trade for Al Horford.

Since then, only rumors about a possible move to the NBA, but in the end the Serbian star continues to play -and win-with Anadolu Efes.

“He’s really taken off since the time in which we acquired his rights,…All I can tell you is that I thought we were pretty close to a deal at one point. He has a contract and is committed (to his team in Europe). But I wouldn’t rule anything out. It’s probably a year to year thing.”

These statements seem to rule out a trade of the player’s rights, a solution supported by the back to back MVP of the Euroleague Final Four.
