Niang is projected to be among the top 10 highest-paid NCAA basketball players next season.

Saliou Niang is set to leave Virtus Bologna to test himself in the world of college basketball, marking the next step toward his NBA dream and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

According to Alessandro Maggi of Sportando, the player has already informed the club of his decision, with Virtus expected to receive a buyout fee that is still to be determined.

Two programs are currently leading the race to land the forward: LSU Tigers and North Carolina Tar Heels.

Niang is projected to be among the top 10 highest-paid NCAA basketball players next season.

The athletic forward was selected by the Cavaliers with the No.58 pick of the 2025 NBA Draft.
