Following the CNOSF’s unfavorable opinion on Monaco, the LNB is preparing to officially reinstate Saint-Quentin in the top division, just three months after its sporting relegation.

Saint-Quentin are set to return to the Betclic ELITE. According to BeBasket, the LNB is expected to officially announce the club’s reinstatement in the coming days after the CNOSF issued an unfavorable opinion on AS Monaco and the FFBB confirmed its decision not to allow the Principality club to participate.

Saint-Quentin had already been informed that a reinstatement was possible and had begun preparing the necessary financial documents for a return to the top flight. General manager Anthony Ottou and head coach Raphaël Pascual will now have to quickly adapt a project that was initially built for ELITE 2, including completing the roster and handling the necessary administrative procedures.

The club’s first game could come on September 26 against JL Bourg, leaving Saint-Quentin less than a month to finalize its roster, budget and paperwork.

Saint-Quentin’s return could also trigger a domino effect across the French basketball pyramid. The vacant ELITE 2 spot could be offered to Fos Provence, currently first in the ranking for a potential reinstatement. If Fos Provence accepts and the promotion is approved by the FFBB, a place in Nationale 1 would then become available, potentially opening the door for AS Monaco’s association team.

The situation remains fluid, however, as Monaco has requested an urgent review of its case following the arrival of a new investor, while the French basketball authorities have already begun preparing for a scenario without the Roca Team.
