The veteran point guard will attend training camp and compete for a place on Sacramento’s final roster

The Sacramento Kings have agreed to a deal with Elfrid Payton. CSE Talent Senior Vice President Darrell Comer confirmed the agreement to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Payton will join the Kings for training camp and compete for a roster spot. Sacramento general manager Scott Perry previously worked with the guard during their time with the Orlando Magic and New York Knicks.

The veteran has played nine NBA seasons, averaging 9.8 points and 5.8 assists per game. Sacramento will now give him another opportunity to remain in the league.
