NBA rumors

76ers reportedly converting Justin Edwards’ two-way deal

According to Keith Pompey, the Philadelphia 76ers have elected to convert Justin Edwards’ two-way contract to a standard deal (two-year with team option, a formula that will allow the parties to negotiate a new multi-year deal as early as next summer).

The 21-year-old rookie from Kentucky – highly-rated as a high schooler but then disappointing with the Wildcats – so far has been one of the few happy notes of the 76ers’ season.

Thanks to many injuries, Edwards has managed to climb Coach Nurse’s pecking order by showing versatility and talent on both ends of the court.

In 7 games as a starter Edwards has produced 10.3 points and 2.4 assists, shooting 48% from the field and 43%  from long range.
