Rumors: John Collins, Myles Turner on the trading block?

According to Ric Bucher, Atlanta Hawks big man John Collins and Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner are on the trading block.

Collins is averaging 19.3 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.7 blocks.

Turner, playing with Domantas Sabonis in a rare ‘two-center’ lineup, is averaging 12.1 points, 6 rebounds and 1.9 blocks.

The trade deadline is on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 3 PM ET.

Sacramento Kings Sign Eric Mika to 10-Day Contract

The Sacramento Kings signed forward-center Eric Mika to a 10-day contract, the team announced.
The big man out of BYU started the year in G League for the Stockton Kings, with averages of 19.8 points (56% FG, 67% FT), 14.5 rebounds and 2.4 assist over 13 games.

Mavs interested in Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson?

According to Brad Townsend, the Dallas Mavs are mulling whether to add a 3/4 to the roster. The reporter adds that they have talked with Charlotte for Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, and with the reigning champs for Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.
MKG has played just 12 times this year, with averages of 4 points and 2.9 rebounds.
Hollis-Jefferson is playing an important role in the Raptors’ second unit, with 7.6 points, 5 rebounds and 1.7 assist per game.

Jrue Holiday reportedly commits to Pelicans ahead of trade deadline

Jrue Holiday has emerged as a player many teams would like to acquire ahead of the trade deadline, but he is likely to remain with the New Orleans Pelicans.

There had been speculation among teams that Holiday could eventually seek a trade from the Pelicans, but league sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic that he’s made it clear he’s happy in New Orleans and committed to the franchise. Holiday would like to take the rest of the season to see how the team performs.

Vasilije Micic reportedly monitored by several NBA teams

According to Kevin O’Connor, several NBA teams have begun to monitor Vasilije Micic‘s situation.
The Anadolu Efes guard was drafted by the 76ers with the 52nd pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.

Micic is averaging over 14 points and 5 assist in Euroleague, shooting 46% from the field, 40% from beyond the arc and 96% from the foul line.

Cavs sign Marquis Bolden to 10-day contract

The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed center Marques Bolden to a 10-day contract, Cavaliers General Manager Koby Altman announced today.

Bolden (6-10, 249) has played in 28 games (24 starts) this season for the Canton Charge, the Cavaliers’ exclusively owned and operated NBA G League team, averaging 9.1 points on .636 shooting from the field, 6.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.

NBA Executives reportedly believe Memphis has a “fallback offer” from Dallas for Andre Iguodala

The Memphis Grizzlies have continued to posture that they expect to receive a first round pick or Andre Iguodala before the trade deadline.

According to ESPN, some league executives suspect the Grizzlies have a fallback option from the Dallas Mavericks in the form of Courtney Lee and a 2020 second round pick from the Golden State Warriors. Sources within the Mavericks have tried to refute that theory.

Dallas acquire Willie Cauley-Stein, waive Justin Patton

The Mavericks officially announced that Willie Cauley-Stein will be joining the Mavericks in a deal that sends Detroit’s second-round draft choice in 2020 to the Golden State Warriors.
Dallas has also requested waivers on center Justin Patton.

Kings coach Luke Walton: Benching Buddy Hield is ‘not a permanent thing’

Buddy Hield scored 21 points after getting benched before the Sacramento Kings’ 98-81 win over the Chicago Bulls. Coach Luke Walton, who started Bogdan Bogdanovic over Hield, said he was looking to shake up the lineup following their recent struggles.

“We’re a team and we’re struggling to win games right now, so we’re looking to see if different groups give us a better chance of doing that, so there’s nothing permanent with it,” Walton said after the game.

Hield said he was going to remain professional despite the benching: “You look at it professionally, you come in and be ready and when coach calls your number you got out there and hoop,” he said.

Rockets make future first round picks available in trade talks

The Houston Rockets have been in win-now mode for the past several seasons as they try to maximize the title window with James Harden.

Sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic that the Rockets are continuing to make future draft picks available in trade talks. Houston has prioritized a wing player on the trade market and will leave a roster spot open for now.

Dallas will send to Warriors the Jazz 2020 second round pick.

Pistons face tough odds in tentatives to trade away Andre Drummond

Pistons’ market on center Andre Drummond seems to be stagnant, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania. Three teams that have inquired with the Pistons -Atlanta, New York and Boston- but the asking price of a first-round draft pick or a quality young player in exchange for Detroit’s center has not yielded a quality offer.

According to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer, the Atlanta Hawks were close to trading for Andre Drummond with an offer of Chandler Parsons and a 2020 first round pick from the Brooklyn Nets to the Detroit Pistons. The Hawks, however, were unwilling to ultimately add the pick because Drummond’s contract extension demands were too high for them.

76ers’ Josh Richardson out at least 2-3 weeks

MRI on 76ers guard Josh Richardson showed a slight strain of his left hamstring and he’s expected to be re-evaluated in two-to-three weeks, according to Shams Charania.
