Real Madrid reportedly could offer €1.8 Million to secure Kevin Punter

Kevin Punter is at the center of the market after two outstanding seasons in the EuroLeague, first with Olimpia Milano and then with Partizan.

As has been said in recent days, Panathinaikos, Barcelona, and Real Madrid are interested in the player.

The Greek team, now coached by Ergin Ataman, is reported to offer a 1.6 million euro net salary per season, most likely for two years.

Real Madrid, according to AS, has freed up 6 million euros gross in its budget for Facundo Campazzo and Kevin Punter.

This was made possible with the departures of Nigel Williams-Goss, Adam Hanga, Petr Cornelie, and Anthony Randolph.

According to Sport24, the Madrid team will be able to offer no more than 3.5 million euros gross per season to Punter, with a tax rate of 46% (about 1.8 million net), due to the salary cap set by the club, which is Eddie Tavares’ salary.

Tamir Blatt signs with Maccabi Tel Aviv

After several months of negotiations, Israeli point guard Tamir Blatt has agreed to a three-year contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Blatt is thus embarking on a new adventure after spending two seasons in Germany with Alba Berlin. During the last season (2022-23), Blatt averaged 7.8 points and 4.5 assists in EuroLeague, demonstrating his value on the European stage.

Blatt’s career began with Hapoel Tel Aviv, but it was with Alba Berlin that he established himself at the highest levels of European basketball.

With this agreement, Blatt becomes the third signing of Maccabi Tel Aviv for this summer, following Angola and Rayman.

Khalifa Diop to join Baskonia

Baskonia adds another young talent, with the agreement with Senegalese big man Khalifa Diop following deals with Nico Mannion and Nikos Rogkavopoulos.

According to Noticias de Alava, the Spanish team agreed to pay a rich buyout to Gran Canaria for the 21-year-old big man, about 700,000 euros.

A significant amount, that Baskonia expects to get back when Diop moves on to the NBA -the big man’s rights belong to the Cavs-.

Diop last year put together averages of 7.9 points, 5 rebounds and one block in 19 minutes per game between ACB and Eurocup.

The center will earn between 500,000 and 600,000 euros.
