The rims in Zalgirio Arena will continue hearing the splashing of Arturas Milaknis’ three-pointers. Zalgiris and the 195 cm-tall sniper have agreed on a two-year deal.
The sharpshooter has spent 10 years in total wearing a green-and-white jersey and is happy to remain in his hometown.
“Kaunas is my home, and Zalgiris is my favorite team. I’m happy to stay here and wear a green-and-white jersey for two more years. We’ve got new challenges ahead of us, and it’ll be interesting to see them through,” – said Arturas Milaknis.
Milaknis returned to Zalgiris from Unics in 2016 and has already won the Lithuanian championship 9 times, alongside 3 King Mindaugas Cup trophies.
Milaknis played 28 games in the EuroLeague last season, averaging 7.4 points in 22 minutes of action. He was hot from downtown all season long, as he converted 39.5% of his long-range shots.
The marksman showed up in the Lithuanian basketball league, dropping 7.6 points per game in 18 minutes of court time. He converted on 44% of his shots from beyond the arc.
The 2015 EuroBasket vice-champion started his professional career in Zalgiris, but has also spent time in Prienai, Kauno Baltai and Unics Kazan.
