FIP reportedly considering extra costs for teams, games with no fans in new season plan

According to the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian basketball federation (FIP) is considering games without fans in the stands, at least in the first part of the season, in the new protocol for the 2020-21 campaign.

The protocol estimates extra costs of 10,000 euros per month for each Serie A team for testing players and coaches every four days, sanitizing arenas and taking all the needed precautions for road trips. Teams shall also undergo serological tests prior to preseason tournaments, the SuperCup in August and before the start of the regular season.

D’Angelo Harrison set to join Happy Casa Brindisi

Happy Casa Brindisi found the replacement for Adrian Banks, who left to join Fortitudo Bologna.

The player is D’Angelo Harrison who has reached an agreement with the Italian team for next season.

St. John’s alum started the season in French Jeep Elite with Le Portel averaging 15.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3 assists before the league was suspended due to coronavirus.
Harrison joined Maccabi Rishon LeZion in Israel where he averaged 19.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists.

Galatasaray pursuing Brock Motum

Brock Motum is Galatasaray’s main target at power forward position, a source tells Sportando.

Galatasaray made an offer to the Australian power forward who has also options to return to his homeland and play in NBL, the source added.

Motum spent the season in ACB with Valencia averaging more than 5ppg in both EuroLeague and ACB.

Ante Zizic reportedly close to Maccabi Tel Aviv

Maccabi Tel Aviv has been pursuing Ante Zizic for months and now the Israeli powerhouse seem close to adding the big man to the roster for next season, according to Moshe Barda of One.

The Croatian big man had an agreement in principle with Real Madrid but the Spanish powerhouse never finalized the deal, at least for now, and Maccabi Tel Aviv broke into negotiations and is close to signing him.

Zizic has played three seasons in the NBA with the Cleveland Cavaliers averaging 5.9ppg and 3.9rpg in 113 games.

Arturas Milaknis stays in Zalgiris for two more years

The rims in Zalgirio Arena will continue hearing the splashing of Arturas Milaknis’ three-pointers. Zalgiris and the 195 cm-tall sniper have agreed on a two-year deal.

The sharpshooter has spent 10 years in total wearing a green-and-white jersey and is happy to remain in his hometown.

“Kaunas is my home, and Zalgiris is my favorite team. I’m happy to stay here and wear a green-and-white jersey for two more years. We’ve got new challenges ahead of us, and it’ll be interesting to see them through,” – said Arturas Milaknis.

Milaknis returned to Zalgiris from Unics in 2016 and has already won the Lithuanian championship 9 times, alongside 3 King Mindaugas Cup trophies.

Milaknis played 28 games in the EuroLeague last season, averaging 7.4 points in 22 minutes of action. He was hot from downtown all season long, as he converted 39.5% of his long-range shots.

The marksman showed up in the Lithuanian basketball league, dropping 7.6 points per game in 18 minutes of court time. He converted on 44% of his shots from beyond the arc.

The 2015 EuroBasket vice-champion started his professional career in Zalgiris, but has also spent time in Prienai, Kauno Baltai and Unics Kazan.
