Evan McGaughey signs with MLP Heidelberg

Evan McGaughey, forward from NCAA D2 school Quincy, has signed a deal to return to MLP Heidelberg in Germany’s Pro A, the team announced. The deal includes an opt-out clause for the Bundesliga, a source told Sportando.

McGaughey played 12 games for Latina Basket in the Italian Serie A2 last season, averaging 9.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.

KK Borac sign Derryck Thornton, Aleksa Novakovic

KK Borac announced the arrival of two players, rookie pointguard Derryck Thornton and 23-year-old guard Aleksa Novakovic.

Thornton played for Duke, USC and Boston College during his college career. In his senior year at BC, he averaged 12.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.

Novakovic, who signed for two years, spent last season in the serbian league, averaging over 11 points and 4 rebounds per game for OKK Novi Pazar.

Avi Ben-Chimol returns to Maccabi Haifa

Maccabi Haifa announced today the signing of Avi Ben-Chimol for the 2020-21 season.
The veteran pointguard played for Maccabi Haifa during the 2011-12 season.

Last year Ben-Chimol averaged 7.2 points and 5.7 assist per game for Hapoel Eilat.

Burevestnik inks Javonte Douglas

Javonte Douglas is a new player of Burevestnik, the russian team announced.
Last year the forward averaged over 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assist for Olomoucko Prostejov, in the Czech NBL.

BC Larissa sign Spiros Mourtos, Kostantinos Papadakis

Spiros Mourtos and Kostantinos Papadakis are new players of BC Larissa, the greek team announced.
Mourtos spent the past two year with Ifestos Limnou, while Papadakis last year played for Panathinaikos, scoring 3.6 points per game.

Deng Geu is the latest addition. A 203 centimeter power forward, who has a double citizenship for Uganda and USA.

Deng graduated this year from NCAA 1 school North Texas. In 2019/2020 he scored 7.5 points and grabbed 5.7 rebounds.

Prior to North Texas, Deng played for North Dakota State where he scored 9.6 points and grabbed 4.9 rebounds. Ex HIC player Lawrence Alexander also played for North Dakota State.

Moreover he has represented Uganda in the world cup qualifier, where he recorded 13.3 points and 11.3 rebounds.

Deng is supposed to play a major role in HIC, where he, with his energy and hustle, should be the cornerstone in the HIC defence.

Shevon Thompson is close to sign a deal with Alba Berlin.

Jamaican big man played the last seasοn in Belgium with Oostende averaging 12.1 points and 7.6 rebound.

Buducnost reportedly signing Tyler Hagedorn to 3-year deal

EuroCup and ABA Liga team Buducnost VOLI is signing rookie forward Tyler Hagedorn to a three-year deal, according to Ferhat Yesiltas.

Hagedorn just finished up his college basketball career at South Dakota. In his senior year, he averaged 18.1 points on an outstanding 51% from three, and was named to the All-Summit League First Team.

Carlton Bragg signs with Basketball Nymburk

Rookie big man Carlton Bragg has signed a deal with Basketball Nymburk of the Basketball Champions League and Czech NBL, the team announced.

Bragg spent two years at Kansas before he transferred to New Mexico for his final two college seasons. In his senior year with the Lobos, he averaged 12.6 points, 10.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game.
