Apparently, new LSU Tigers men’s basketball head coach Will Wade intends to build a roster featuring as many former professional players as possible.

According to several reporters — including Jeff Borzello of ESPN — the Tigers have reached an agreement with RJ Luis, a 23-year-old wing coming off a rookie season spent as NBA Two-Way Player first with the Utah Jazz and later with the Boston Celtics.

It is still unclear whether Luis, who was named Big East Player of the Year in 2025 while at St. John’s, will be eligible to return to the NCAA.

Most likely, the matter will ultimately be decided by a judge, with the player potentially arguing that he never actually appeared in an NBA/G League game during his rookie year because of injury issues.

LSU also made headlines in recent days for reportedly offering around $5 million to Yam Madar.

The Israeli point guard was selected by the Celtics in the second round of the 2020 NBA Draft and has played professionally since 2018.
