RJ Barrett is entering the final year of his contract with Toronto, but serious extension talks have yet to begin. The wing is eligible for a deal worth up to four years and $185.7 million.
According to Michael Grange of Sportsnet, Barrett and the Raptors have not yet held serious extension discussions. He is set to earn $29.6 million in 2026-27 and is eligible for a new four-year agreement.
Barrett has made his preference clear: “I’m trying to stay here. I understand the business, but I want to stay here. I want to be here for the rest of my career. I don’t ever want to leave.”
For now, the Canadian is staying focused on basketball: “I have a good agent — I just let him do his thing. Whatever happens, happens.”
