Several NBA teams tried to exploit the Denver Nuggets’ salary-cap situation during trade discussions involving Cam Johnson.
According to Bennett Durando of The Denver Post, some proposals required Denver to include draft picks. The Nuggets declined, viewing Johnson as an impactful starter rather than a negative-value contract.
Johnson averaged 12.2 points while shooting 43% from three last season. He will earn $23 million in the final year of his four-year, $94.5 million contract.
