The 2000-born center arrives to add verticality, rim protection and defensive presence to the orange-and-grenade roster after his season with the Maine Celtics in the G League

Umana Reyer Venezia have officially announced the signing of Hason Ward, a center born in Barbados on September 24, 2000.
The big man, listed at 206 cm and 100 kg, joins the roster to bring athleticism, verticality and strong defensive impact.

Ward arrives after spending the 2025-26 season in the NBA G League with the Maine Celtics, where he posted 9.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game across 45 appearances.
Those numbers confirm his profile as a true rim protector, able to contribute around the basket both as a finisher and as a shot blocker.

During his development, he also played for VCU and Iowa State in college basketball, while also featuring with the Sacramento Kings in Summer League and within the Boston Celtics system.
For Reyer, this is a signing aimed at adding energy, size and another solution in the paint for the final stretch of the season.
