Virtus Bologna-Maccabi Tel Aviv will go ahead as scheduled on November 21 for the twelfth round of the EuroLeague. The police have given the green light.
Virtus Bologna-Maccabi Tel Aviv will be played on the 21st
This morning, Repubblica-Bologna ran the headline: “Towards the postponement of Virtus-Maccabi, the police headquarters asks not to play on the 21st due to pro-Pal protests.”
This is what the newspaper reported: “Playing the next Euroleague basketball game at PalaDozza is too risky. For this reason, the police headquarters has formally requested that Virtus – Maccabi Tel Aviv, scheduled for Friday 21 at 8:30 p.m., be postponed until at least mid-December, after the Davis Cup tennis tournament.
The opinion of Police Chief Antonio Sbordone is circulating among the members of the National Sports Events Observatory (Ones) and is already on the desk of the Prefect of Bologna, Enrico Ricci. For this reason, given the announced pro-Pai protest, it is possible that the game will be moved.
Late in the morning, however, a counterorder arrives, signed by Corriere di Bologna journalist Daniele Labanti: “For the Bologna police headquarters, the Virtus-Maccabi basketball game can take place as scheduled in the city.”
