According to Telesport, Zeljko Obradovic will be the new head coach of Panathinaikos after reaching an agreement on a three-year contract worth a total of €10.5 million.
The Serbian coaching legend reportedly received strong assurances regarding his role within the organization, with club management committing to give him full autonomy over basketball operations and no interference in his work.
In other words, Obradovic is expected to have a free hand in shaping the roster and implementing his vision as Panathinaikos looks to build a team capable of competing for the EuroLeague title.
While the club’s transfer plans remain unclear, one player who appears unlikely to leave is Mathias Lessort. The French center enjoyed a breakout period under Obradovic at Partizan, and his strong relationship with the coach could make him a cornerstone of the new project in Athens.
