The Lithuanian hangs up sneakers due to back issues

Renaldas Seibutis has decided to retire.
The Lithuanian has played his last game at the FIBA Basketball World Cup in September 2019.

He has been bothered by back issues over his career and the last seasons.

Per Basketnews, “I went through so much after such an injury and long rehabilitation, that deep in my heart I believed I played my last game in professional basketball,” Seibutis told BasketNews regarding his second back surgery in 2020.

Two-time LKL champion experienced the best time of his career with Lithuania National Team. In his first National Team campaign, Seibutis won bronze in the 2010 FIBA World Cup. Later he won the EuroBasket silver twice in 2013 and 2015. Before his pro career, Seibutis won gold in the 2005 FIBA U21 World Championship, scoring game-winning free throws after the regulation for Lithuania
