Real Madrid star Sergio Llull reached the milestone of 3000 points in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague during his team’s 78-70 defeat at AX Armani Exchange Milan on Friday night. The 2016-17 EuroLeague MVP headed into the game needing 3 more points to reach the tally, and he duly did so with a trademark triple early in the second quarter. He finished the game with 8 points, taking his overall total to 3005.
Llull becomes the seventh player to score 3000 points in the competition, and he is now rapidly closing in on teammate Felipe Reyes (3022 points) for sixth place on the list. Llull reached the milestone in his 286th EuroLeague appearance, and has averaged 10.5 points per game. Vassilis Spanoulis tops the all-time scoring chart with 4272 points and counting.
