As reported by El País, Real Madrid will play its EuroLeague quarterfinal home games against Hapoel Tel Aviv in front of a limited crowd after authorities in Madrid approved access for around 8,000 season-ticket holders. There will be no general ticket sales and no away fans will be allowed inside the arena.
Entry will be limited to previously identified season-ticket holders, or to people using a transferred season ticket with proper authorization. Courtside rows will remain empty, gates will open earlier than usual, and the security operation will include around 450 police officers.
The decision marks a clear change from recent Real Madrid home games against Israeli teams, which had been played behind closed doors. For Sergio Scariolo’s team, this is also a major sporting factor, since home-court atmosphere had become a key issue ahead of the playoff series against Hapoel.
