According to Marca, three key moments fueled Madrid’s anger. The first came with 1:22 left and Olympiacos leading 82-80, when Gaby Deck and Thomas Walkup battled for a loose ball under the basket. The officials initially awarded possession to Real Madrid, but after Georgios Bartzokas requested a review, the decision was overturned and the ball went to Olympiacos. The images, according to the Spanish outlet, suggest Deck may have touched it last, though not with complete clarity.
The second call was the most controversial. On the ensuing inbound play, still with 1:22 on the clock, Facundo Campazzo was called for a foul on Walkup. The pass seemed to be going nowhere and Real Madrid appeared ready to recover possession, with a chance to tie or take the lead. Marca described the call as extremely strict, if not questionable, and decisive in the final outcome.

The third decision involved Andres Feliz fouling Evan Fournier with 52 seconds remaining and Olympiacos ahead 84-80. Madrid fans also protested that whistle, but in this case Marca acknowledged that contact existed, as the Dominican guard hit Fournier’s arm while trying to steal the ball.
The mood around Real Madrid remains one of deep frustration. The blancos came close to a remarkable upset, competed through major physical limitations and had a chance to stay alive late.
