Real Madrid closing in on Nick Smith Jr. deal

The 22-year-old American guard, selected 27th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, is nearing a move to Spain after stints with the Hornets and Lakers.

Nick Smith Jr. is reportedly close to joining Real Madrid. The 22-year-old American guard, who stands 1.88 meters tall, is nearing an agreement with the Spanish club for the upcoming season, according to Chema de Lucas.

If completed, the move would bring Smith Jr. to Europe after his NBA experience with the Charlotte Hornets and Los Angeles Lakers. Selected 27th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, Smith Jr. appeared in 31 NBA games during his time in the league.

His arrival would provide Real Madrid with another young option in the backcourt, while giving the club an opportunity to develop and maximize the potential of the 22-year-old guard.
