Real Madrid will face Baskonia tonight at the Palacio de los Deportes in León as part of the I Memorial Urbano González Escapa. Pedro Martínez’s side will play their second preparation game ahead of the start of the official season, which will get underway with the EuroLeague Super Cup in Dubai on September 18 and 19.
After facing Río Breogán last week, our team continues its series of pre-season friendlies, which will help them regain their competitive rhythm. Today’s opponent will be a EuroLeague side. The Vitoria-based team has been revamped with the addition of five new players — Duarte, formerly of Unicaja, and Faried, formerly of the NBA, are the most notable names — following nine departures compared to last season.
Madrid gradually welcomes its new players
Pedro Martínez has most of the squad available following the return of the international players who had been away on national-team duty. Jantunen, Luwawu-Cabarrot, Shulga and Jones could therefore make their first appearances as Real Madrid players.
