Neto to miss several months of action

Athlete Raul Neto suffered rupture of the patellar tendon in his right knee during the third quarter of the match between Brazil and Iran, for the opening of Group G of the World Cup, in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Raul suffered a fall at the beginning of the third quarter and was attended to immediately, still on the court, with a suspected rupture of the patellar tendon. The injury was confirmed in a magnetic resonance examination performed minutes later at the event’s official hospital, under the guidance and monitoring of the Director of Health and physician of the Brazilian National Team, Carlos Vicente Andreoli.

Raul suffered the rupture in the jump movement. The athlete was immobilized, he is now at the hotel with the delegation and under the care of the medical department. With the diagnosis, he is out of the rest of the World Cup and, at this moment, the CBB deals with the athlete’s logistical issues
