Porzingis: Nikola Jokic is the best player in the world, a pure basketball mastermind

The Nuggets are third in the Western Conference with 29 wins in 43 games

Boston Celtics big man Kristaps Porzingis praises Nikola Jokic after the game that saw the Denver Nuggets prevail at TD Garden and hand Boston its first home loss in 21 games.

“It’s just pure basketball talent,” Porziņģis said. “Pure basketball mastermind.

“He’s the best player in the world and he’s just so crafty. Kind of almost makes you fall asleep like he’s not doing anything and just slides by you. He has so many tricks and so many things that he can do and then making so many tough shots that are not really tough for him because — I guess they’re not because he’s just been making them for a long time and you have to live with those.”

Jokic led the Nuggets with 34 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists, as they snapped Boston’s franchise-best 20-0 at home start to the season.
