Diogo Brito explained the incident that led to Filip Petrusev’s ejection in the Serbia–Portugal game: “It was a hard box-out, but I still think it was just a basketball play”.

“He punched me in the stomach, maybe lost his cool,” Brito added. “I’m sorry he was ejected, but that’s the referee’s decision. I can’t do anything about it”.

The play happened after a three-pointer by Nikola Jovic, with Serbia leading 9-7. Petrusev had played just over four minutes, scoring 2 points before leaving the game.
