A few details from a conversation with Atlanta Hawks guard Dejounte Murray were disclosed by TNT sideline reporter Dennis Scott during the Hawks’ game versus the Spurs. They talked about a few things, including the notion that the Spurs would try to get Murray back.
Scott stated that Murray responded to him, “Pop (Spurs coach Gregg Popovich) is like a father to me, I would welcome that,” in response to a question regarding the Spurs rumor. But because I’m a Hawk right now, I’ll play by the rules and maintain my professionalism.”
Scott mentioned that Murray’s response to the trade speculations is typical of most NBA veterans.
“It’s part of the business, I’m going to stay professional and be a good teammate,” Scott said to Murray.
