Pistons, Magic, Spurs only teams projected to have relevant 2022 cap space

Kings could join the trio renouncing to rights to Marvin Bagley III

Despite the NBA salary cap being projected to increase from $112M to $119M from 2021-22 to 2022-23, ESPN’s Bobby Marks projects only three teams will have relevant cap space next summer.

The Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic and San Antonio Spurs are expected to have a minimum of $30M in room. The Sacramento Kings could have $22M in cap space should they let Marvin Begley Jr. walk in free agency.
