Pistons, Griffin and Kennard praise Svi Mykhailiuk

The ukrainian guard out of Kansas was selected by the Lakers at No.47 in the 2018 NBA Draft

Detroit Pistons guard Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk showed his potential during the season that has just ended.

He averaged 9 points and 1.9 assist per game, shooting 40% from long range.

Two of his teammates, Blake Griffin and Luke Kennard, think that the Ukrainian guard will play an even more important role next season.

“Physically, right away you can see the things that he brings to the table, but I think he grew this year and sort of his mental approach, and also just his confidence that he can impact the game in more ways than just shooting,” Griffin said. “I think next year will be a big year for him. He’s put in a lot of work and I feel like he’s taking that step.”

“Just continuing to talk to him and seeing his game grow, it’s going to be really important for us next year,” Kennard said. “I really believe that and he’s working hard right now. I can tell you that he’s in the gym, he’s putting the work in, and it’s definitely going to show even more next year.”
