The Philadelphia 76ers and Philadelphia Flyers have unveiled the first images of their new arena in South Philadelphia, which will be built on the site of the former Spectrum. The state-of-the-art venue is targeted to open in 2030 and will become the future home of the Sixers.
The arena will be shared by the two franchises and will also host Philadelphia’s new WNBA team. The project is being developed through a partnership between Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment and Comcast Spectacor, with the goal of creating one of the most modern and technologically advanced sports venues in the United States.
For the 76ers, the project marks a change of direction after the franchise abandoned plans for a new arena in Center City.
