The team says Maxey will be re-evaluated in about three weeks as Philadelphia navigates a stretch already hit by key absences

The Philadelphia 76ers announced Tyrese Maxey has been diagnosed with a right pinkie tendon injury and will miss at least three weeks, with a recheck scheduled in roughly that timeframe.

Maxey was hurt late in Saturday’s loss in Atlanta after a collision with teammate Adem Bona and immediately headed to the locker room. Initial imaging ruled out broken bones, and additional scans plus multiple specialist consultations confirmed the tendon issue.

Maxey is posting career highs (29.0 PPG, 6.7 APG), making the setback significant for a Sixers team also dealing with Joel Embiid’s absence and Paul George sidelined. A longer shutdown could also affect his end-of-season award eligibility thresholds.
