The Philadelphia 76ers have officially announced the signing of LeBron James. The four-time NBA champion and four-time MVP joins Philadelphia after 23 seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
James arrives as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer with 43,440 career points, 22 All-Star selections and 21 All-NBA selections. In the 2025-26 season with the Lakers, he averaged 20.9 points, 7.2 assists and 6.1 rebounds, extending his historic streak of seasons averaging at least 20 points to 23. NBA.com had reported in recent days James’ decision to sign with Philadelphia, which he called his “last decision.”
In Philadelphia, James will join a roster led by Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown and VJ Edgecombe. “I cannot wait to see LeBron alongside Jaylen Brown, VJ Edgecombe, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and our talented roster,” Sixers managing partner Josh Harris said in the team release. James will wear No. 23 with the 76ers.
